In addition to widely distinguishing himself as an experienced mediator and legal professional, Dr. Robert M. Caldwell is an internationally known researcher and author who has published widely in the areas of education, computer technology, and mediation. Dr. Caldwell currently serves as the Managing Partner of Caldwell Business and Legal Services (CBLS), a mediation and transactional law service that 1) facilitates dispute resolution between individuals and business, 2) brings to resolution the settlement of uncontested divorces, 3) intercedes in real estate and health care disputes, 4) provides trusts and advanced directives to aid in estate planning, and 4) offers mobile notary services throughout locations in Orange County, California.
Dr. Caldwell has also been instrumental in helping startup ventures in educational institutions, technology-based companies, and real estate investments obtain seed capital and second-stage financing for the advancement of their businesses. In addition, his active interests in legal compliance and accreditation have made him a key contributor to state-wide reform efforts as well as a valuable resource to educational institutions seeking instructional effectiveness evaluations and self-assessment strategies.
He has also established himself as one of Orange County’s most effective mediators helping to resolve disputes in many areas such as divorce, real estate, healthcare, and general civic disputes. He is a certified mediator in Divorce Mediation, has hours of experience in helping to resolve disputes in Orange County Superior Courts, and is a member of the Southern California Mediation Association. Dr. Caldwell is also a licensed Notary Public in the State of California.
In addition to his vast experience in the law, Dr. Caldwell holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Penn State University and has done applied research in the area of Artificial intelligence at Nichols Research Corporation where he headed a research team developing complex computer-based software systems for the U.S. Army Strategic Defense Command.
Dr. Caldwell has published four books and over 150 scholarly articles on diverse subjects in both technology and education. He has also secured over $10 million in research grants and in venture and private equity funding to fund start-up software development and publishing companies.
In the past five years, Dr. Caldwell has provided administrative leadership and capital generation for a number of projects which have led to the accreditation of several for-profit colleges. He is currently seeking approval to establish Western Cambridge School of Law in Newport Beach, CA and serves as the Chief Academic Officer for Los Angeles International University, an online university offering graduate and undergraduate students world-wide.
